Rating 0.0/5 (0 vote)

Health Psychology is a relatively young, but rapidly growing discipline that is attracting a great deal of interest from undergraduate students as a potential postgraduate career path. In order to become a Chartered Health Psychologist, students must fulfil a number of requirements determined by the British Psychological Society. These include Stage 1 training, which involves the satisfactory completion of an accredited MSc course followed by Stage 2 training, of two or more years spent acquiring a range of supervised skills connected with consultancy, research, teaching and training.
The programme is delivered through eight modules, each developed to encompass the core curriculum required by the British Psychological Society for Stage 1 training in Health Psychology. This MSc will be initiating the accreditation process with the British Psychological Society prior to the first intake of students in September 2006. The core programme team have strong research backgrounds in health psychology and have published widely in the area. The programme leader is a Chartered Health Psychologist and an Examiner for Stage 2 training with the British Psychological Society. Two other team members are Chartered Psychologists. Additionally, within the School of Psychology a core team of staff are active in research with specific interests in the field of psychology and health.
